Happy first birthday, Dispatch! AdHoc Studio's superhero workplace comedy turned one on October 22, 2026, and instead of just blowing out candles, the team showed up with a whole party bag: a milestone, a free update, a mobile launch date and a live concert. If you have been meaning to clock in at the SDN switchboard, this Dispatch anniversary update is a very good excuse.

  • Milestone: more than 5 million players, according to AdHoc Studio (Gematsu reports it as over five million copies sold)
  • Free update: Deluxe Edition owners get a Commentary Mode with 16+ hours of cast and crew commentary plus a Storyboard Mode, at no extra cost
  • Upgrade price: standard owners can buy the Deluxe upgrade for $10.99, which also includes the digital art book and four digital comics
  • Mobile: iOS and Android launch on December 9, with the first four episodes free and the full game unlocking for $19.99

What Does the Dispatch Deluxe Update Add?

Two genuinely fun behind-the-scenes modes, both live now on every platform where the Digital Deluxe Edition is sold.

Commentary Mode layers more than 16 hours of commentary across every episode, director's-cut style. You pick a Cast or Crew track in Settings, and because different choices unlock different commentary, a second playthrough can surface new stories. AdHoc says you will hear from Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham and more of the cast, plus the writers, directors and designers. It is like having the whole team on a group call while you play — minus anyone forgetting to unmute.

Storyboard Mode lets you play the entire game as its original storyboard animatics, so every scene appears the way it was first drawn before animation. For anyone who loves art books or animation pipelines, this is catnip.

Owners of the Deluxe Edition simply update the game and switch modes in Settings.

When Is Dispatch Coming to iOS and Android?

December 9. Dispatch first launched on PS5 and Steam on October 22, 2025, then reached Switch 2 and Switch on January 29, 2026, and Xbox Series plus the Microsoft Store on July 29, 2026. The mobile version uses a generous try-before-you-buy model: the first four episodes are free, and the full game unlocks for $19.99. Gematsu reports pre-registration on the App Store and Google Play is coming soon. Story-driven episodic games are a natural fit for phones, so this could be the version that brings in the next few million dispatchers.

More Anniversary Goodies

AdHoc did not stop at the game itself:

  • Dispatch: Design Works, a hardcover making-of book and collectible box with Lost In Cult, planned for 2027, with pre-order details due at the end of November
  • A live soundtrack concert at AVALON Hollywood on Thursday, December 3, with composer Andrew Arcadi and the SDN Company Band
  • New merch and a month of community giveaways

Free post-launch love like this is one of our favorite trends, from the Cult of the Lamb Switch 2 free upgrade to recent Steam achievement sets for DLC. A year in, Dispatch is treating its players like valued coworkers.
