Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 Adds FL4K and Loveless Today

What Lands in Borderlands 4 on September 10

Today is a big drop day on Kairos. 2K and Gearbox are pushing Story Pack 2, Bounty Pack 5, a new Vault Hunter and the version 1.10 update all at once, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

• Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort brings a new tropical island zone called Providence, two Pearlescent weapons and 18 Legendary items
• Loveless the Hacker joins as the second new Vault Hunter, sold separately from the Story Pack
• Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows adds a repeatable mission, a new boss, two mini-bosses, a Pearlescent, six Legendaries and Vault Card 5 with 24 cosmetics
• Version 1.10 raises the level cap by 10 for every player, free, whether you buy the packs or not

That last one is the part worth circling. The cap raise is not gated behind the DLC — it goes to everyone, which means the build you have been sitting on since launch gets ten more points to argue with.

Providence, Mr. Chew, and a Volcano

The setup: FL4K, the beastmaster from Borderlands 3, returns to continue The Hunt on Kairos and track down a missing skag companion, Mr. Chew. The trail leads to Providence, a lush resort island with a volcano at the middle of it and Tediore quietly staging an invasion underneath the palm trees. Lieutenant Harmony is the antagonist standing between you and the dog.

Two traversal ideas come with it. Ziplines make the island vertical rather than flat, and digiverse server uploads give the zone a second layer to move through. Neither is going to reinvent the genre, but both are the kind of thing that makes a returning map worth walking around in rather than sprinting past.

Loveless is the more interesting mechanical addition. She is an ex-Anshin hacker turned assassin, kitted out with high-end cybernetics and sharing her head with a digital virus of her own design — one that can digistruct into a physical form and fight alongside her. A pet class where the pet is also the character's own malware is a genuinely fun premise for a looter shooter.

Is Any of This Worth It if You Skipped the Last One?

Reasonable question, and Gearbox has answered part of it: with the 1.10 update, Story Pack 1 and Bounty Pack 2 are now available to buy individually on every platform. If you passed on the season pass and only want the pieces you missed, that door is open now.

Bounty Pack 5 leans into Amara and the Phase dimension lore, with Vile enemy types, a new boss and two mini-bosses on a repeatable mission — the structure Gearbox has been using for endgame loops all year. Vault Card 5 carries 24 cosmetics plus four rerollable gear pieces, so the cosmetic chase gets a refresh alongside the loot one.

For everyone else, the free level cap bump is the reason to reinstall tonight.
