Exchange operators do not usually get a lot of love on earnings day, but Nasdaq's third quarter is worth a closer look because it shows where market infrastructure is heading. Nasdaq reported Q3 2026 results on October 22, 2026, with double-digit revenue growth, record index inflows, record FinTech recurring-revenue growth and a new digital-assets unit. Here are the Nasdaq Q3 2026 earnings in plain English.

  • Revenue: net revenue of $1.5 billion, up 13% year over year (14% organic), with Solutions revenue up 17%
  • Recurring revenue: annualized recurring revenue (ARR) of $3.4 billion, up 12% (14% organic), with SaaS at 38% of ARR
  • Index: index revenue of $286 million, up 39%, with $49 billion of net inflows in the quarter and a record $141 billion over 12 months
  • Earnings: GAAP diluted EPS of $0.96, up 31%, and non-GAAP EPS of $1.04, up 18%

What Drove Nasdaq's Q3 2026 Revenue Growth?

Most of the growth came from Nasdaq's Solutions businesses, which now generate about $1.2 billion of the $1.5 billion in quarterly net revenue. Capital Access Platforms revenue grew 20%, helped by the index business, while Financial Technology revenue rose 16% to $529 million. Market Services, the trading side, added $309 million, up 2%, and Nasdaq said the segment set a new third-quarter revenue record on higher US options and European equities volumes.

Profitability improved too. GAAP operating income was $732 million, up 25%, and non-GAAP operating income rose 15% to $843 million. Cash flow from operations reached $521 million, and Nasdaq returned $173 million in dividends and $323 million in buybacks during the quarter.

Why Is Nasdaq's FinTech Business Growing So Fast?

This is the most interesting part of the report for anyone watching fintech. Financial Technology delivered a record 18% organic ARR growth, and Nasdaq says every subdivision grew revenue by double digits for the third quarter in a row. The business signed 54 new clients and 135 upsells, with cloud-based solutions making up 85% of new annualized contract value.

AI is showing up in the numbers. Nasdaq Verafin, its anti-financial-crime platform, made its Agentic AML Analyst and Agentic Fraud Analyst generally available and now has more than 850 clients using its agentic AI workforce. Verafin has signed 12 enterprise deals year to date, already beating the 9 it signed in all of 2025.

What Is Nasdaq Digital Liquidity Networks?

Nasdaq formed Digital Liquidity Networks, a new organization within Market Services focused on digital assets and market modernization. Inside it, Nasdaq completed the acquisition of LeveL Markets, which it describes as the third-largest US alternative trading system by volume, with more than 2,500 clients. According to The Motley Fool's earnings-call summary, the unit is meant to unify Nasdaq's digital-asset and tokenization strategies. It builds on moves like Nasdaq's $100 million investment in Kraken's tokenized stock plan.

When Does 23/5 Trading Start on Nasdaq?

Nasdaq confirmed the Nasdaq Stock Market remains on track to launch 23/5 trading on December 6, 2026, extending access to US-listed stocks for investors around the world. CEO Adena Friedman said markets are moving toward an "AI-driven, Always-On future" across asset classes and geographies. That fits a broader trend of exchanges stretching their hours, which we saw in CME Group's record Q3 trading volume.

What to Watch Next

Nasdaq updated its 2026 non-GAAP operating expense guidance to $2.550 billion to $2.580 billion and kept its tax-rate guidance unchanged. Key things to follow from here are the December 23/5 launch, how quickly Digital Liquidity Networks scales, and whether FinTech ARR can keep accelerating. None of this is investment advice.
