ASRock NUC 300 Mini PCs: Wildcat Lake With Dual 2.5GbE
ASRock Industrial's NUC 300 series brings Intel Core 5 320 and Core 3 304 to mini PCs and boards with up to 64GB of DDR5-6400 memory and dual 2.5GbE.
ASRock Industrial has launched its NUC 300 series, a family of compact mini PCs and motherboards built on Intel's power-efficient Wildcat Lake processors. The line pairs Intel's Core 5 320 and Core 3 304 chips with fast DDR5 memory, two 2.5GbE ports and triple 4K display support, aimed at edge computing, kiosks and industrial systems.
- Models: NUC BOX-320 and NUC BOX-304 mini PCs, plus NUC-320 and NUC-304 bare motherboards.
- Memory: up to 64GB of DDR5-6400 with in-band ECC.
- Networking: dual 2.5GbE, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
- Power: 12 to 24V DC input; pricing not yet announced.
What Is in the ASRock NUC 300 Series?
The NUC BOX models are fan-cooled mini PCs measuring 117.5 x 110 x 49mm. The NUC-320 and NUC-304 are bare boards at 104 x 102mm for builders who want to design their own enclosure. LinuxGizmos reports that the boxes ship with a 19V, 90W adapter and a VESA mounting bracket, but without RAM or storage, so you add your own.
Storage comes from two M.2 PCIe Gen4 slots. Display output covers two HDMI 2.1 ports and two USB-C ports with DisplayPort Alt Mode, driving up to three independent 4K screens.
How Do the Core 5 320 and Core 3 304 Compare?
Both chips belong to Intel's Wildcat Lake family, which we have tested in systems like the ACEMAGIC Kron Mini K5. According to CNX Software:
- Core 5 320: six cores (two performance cores and four low-power efficiency cores), two-core Intel Xe3 graphics rated at 20 TOPS, and a 16 TOPS NPU.
- Core 3 304: five cores (one performance core and four low-power efficiency cores), one-core Xe3 graphics rated at 9 TOPS, and a 15 TOPS NPU.
The NPU and GPU together give these small systems enough AI throughput for vision tasks like object detection or people counting at the edge, without a discrete accelerator.
Why Wildcat Lake Suits Industrial Mini PCs
Wildcat Lake is built for low power, which keeps heat and noise down in tight spaces. ASRock adds features that matter outside the home. In-band ECC protects memory from silent errors, the wide 12 to 24V DC input fits industrial power supplies, and the bare boards are rated from -20 to 70 degrees Celsius, per CNX Software. The boxed versions run from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Dual 2.5GbE is a nice touch for network appliances, firewalls and camera gateways, where one port faces the internet and the other faces local devices.
Which Operating Systems Does It Support?
CNX Software says Windows 10 and Windows 11 are officially supported, and Linux should work with newer kernels that include Wildcat Lake support. That makes the NUC 300 a flexible base for anything from digital signage to a small home server.
If you want a cheaper consumer take on the same chip, the MINISFORUM M2 Air-304 barebone uses the Core 3 304 too. Keep up with new compact systems in our mini PC coverage.
