Marvel Tokon Year One DLC plans are now fully on the table, and the roster is a good one. On October 11, 2026, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works revealed that Thor (Jane Foster), Venom and Jubilee will follow Phoenix Cyclops into Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the four-versus-four tag fighter on PS5 and PC. That gives players a clear schedule from next month through summer 2027.

  • Phoenix Cyclops: November 2, 2026.
  • Thor (Jane Foster): winter 2027.
  • Venom: spring 2027, arriving with a new stage.
  • Jubilee: summer 2027.

When Do the Marvel Tokon DLC Characters Release?

All four fighters belong to the Year One Characters and Stage Pass, according to Gematsu's report on the announcement. Phoenix Cyclops leads off on November 2. Jane Foster's Thor follows in winter 2027, and the reveal came with a first trailer showing her in action. Venom lands in spring 2027 alongside a brand-new stage, and Jubilee closes out the year in summer 2027.

GamesRadar reports the pass costs $35 and is included with the game's Deluxe and Ultimate editions.

It is a smart spread of picks. You get a cosmic powerhouse, a hammer-swinging Thor, a fan-favorite symbiote and a 90s X-Men icon who throws fireworks. That is a lot of very different fighting styles for a tag game where team building is half the fun.

How Does Phoenix Cyclops Play?

The first fighter is the one we know most about, thanks to a PlayStation Blog post by Arc System Works producer Takeshi Yamanaka on October 7. He describes Phoenix Cyclops as "an all-rounder who excels at both long-range combat and close-range strikes."

The twist is a resource called Solar Shards. Cyclops earns them by using his Optic Blasts, and once he collects four he can transform into Dark Phoenix. That form grants what Yamanaka calls "a significant temporary power boost," but it comes with risk, including draining his health. So the big comeback button also has a timer on it, which sounds exactly like the kind of drama a tag fighter thrives on.

"The Phoenix Force is both an incredible source of power and a path to destruction," Yamanaka writes.

Phoenix Cyclops is voiced by Ray Chase, and Classic and Legacy costumes arrive with him on November 2.

What Else Is Happening for Marvel Tokon?

Quite a bit, as it turns out:

  • EVO France: the event runs October 9 to 11, and attendees are among the first to play Phoenix Cyclops, per the PlayStation Blog.
  • First sale: the game's first PlayStation Store discount started October 7.
  • Free trial: PlayStation Plus subscribers can try the game for three hours through a Game Trial that began the same day.

If you have been curious since Marvel Tokon launched with 20 fighters in August, the trial is an easy way in before the new characters arrive.

Why the Roadmap Matters

Fighting games live on their post-launch support, and a dated, named roadmap is the best thing a developer can hand its community. Players know who is coming and roughly when, competitors can plan around new matchups, and everyone gets a reason to keep labbing through 2027. Four characters and a stage in year one is a steady pace for a team-based fighter.

I already know who is going on my squad. Jubilee, obviously. More in our gaming coverage.
