GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro Packs 192GB for Local 320B AI Models

GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro is the first mini PC with 192GB LPDDR5X and a Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, built to run up to 320B-parameter models offline from about $6,400.

GMKtec officially launched the EVO-X5 Pro on September 28, 2026, billing it as the first mini PC with 192GB of memory and AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor. The target is simple: run very large language models entirely offline on a box that sits on a desk.

  • 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory at 273GB/s; Wccftech reports roughly 160GB can be allocated as GPU memory.
  • GMKtec says it can run offline models up to 320B parameters.
  • The chip has 16 Zen 5 cores / 32 threads up to 5.2GHz, a 40-compute-unit Radeon 8065S GPU and an NPU rated up to 55 TOPS.
  • Launch pricing runs about $6,400 to $7,100 depending on configuration and promotion.

What is inside the EVO-X5 Pro?

The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 is the successor to the 395 chip behind earlier Strix Halo machines, such as the GMK EVO-X3. Memory is the headline: 192GB of unified LPDDR5X lets the CPU, GPU and NPU share one large pool, which is what big local models need. For background on this chip family, see our explainer on AMD Strix Halo mini PCs for local AI.

What ports and storage does it offer?

  • Three M.2 2280 slots, supporting up to 24TB total
  • Two USB4 v2 ports at 80Gbps and two USB4 ports at 40Gbps
  • Four USB-A ports
  • Two 10GbE ports and HDMI 2.1

Two 10GbE ports are handy for homelab clustering and for moving model files quickly.

How much does the EVO-X5 Pro cost?

Sources disagree slightly because of promotions. GMKtec's own post lists tiers between $6,399 and $7,099, while Wccftech reports $6,599 for the 192GB and 2TB model with a regular price of $6,799. Liliputing says rivals with the same chip, such as the Minisforum MS-S1 MAX-P495 at $7,399, cost roughly double comparable 395 machines because of memory prices. Plan on about $6,400 to $6,600 at launch.

Is a 192GB mini PC worth it for local LLMs?

That depends on the model you want. If you work with mid-size models, cheaper 128GB machines remain capable. The EVO-X5 Pro is for people who want the largest open models resident in memory, without a rack. The 320B figure is GMKtec's claim; check real quantization and context needs before buying.
