
ArmSoM Sige6 Solders 128GB of eMMC Onto a $119 SBC
The ArmSoM Sige6 pairs an Allwinner A733 with up to 128GB of soldered eMMC, 16GB of LPDDR5 and an M.2 NVMe slot, with pre-orders starting at $119.
The Storage Spec Is the Interesting Part
ArmSoM opened pre-orders for the Sige6 on September 1, 2026, and the specification that stands out is not the processor. It is the storage: up to 128GB of eMMC flash soldered directly to the board, in a class of single board computer where 32GB has been the practical ceiling for years.
The base configuration is $119 with 6GB of LPDDR5 and 32GB of eMMC. Shipping is expected by mid-September, and ArmSoM says the board stays in production through January 2036.

Why Soldered Storage Beats a Card Slot
Anyone who has run a single board computer as an always-on device has eventually killed a microSD card. Cheap flash cards were designed for cameras — sequential writes, occasional use — and a Linux root filesystem writing logs and databases around the clock wears them out in a way the format never anticipated. It is the single most common failure mode in the hobby.
Soldered eMMC solves it structurally. There is no connector to work loose, no card to corrupt on a power cut, and the endurance characteristics are built for the job. Getting 128GB of it on a board at this price point means a genuinely self-contained device: an operating system, a container stack and a working dataset, with nothing hanging off the side. The M.2 slot is still there for anyone who wants NVMe on top, which is the right way round: fast bulk storage as an option, reliable boot storage as a default.
How Does the A733 Compare to Other Small SBCs?
The A733 has been having a good few weeks. It also powers the Orange Pi Zero 4, which packs 3 TOPS and 16GB into 21 grams, and the two boards illustrate the split neatly. The Orange Pi optimises for size and price. The Sige6 spends its budget on storage, a full-size Gigabit Ethernet port with optional PoE, and the M.2 slot.
The rest of the specification is competent rather than remarkable, which is what you want at $119: HDMI 2.0, MIPI DSI and CSI, USB 3.0 and 2.0, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, a 3.5mm audio jack and a 40-pin GPIO header. Video decode runs to 4Kp60 for H.265 and VP9, with 4Kp30 encode.
The 3 TOPS NPU sits in the same territory as most current small boards — enough for object detection, keyword spotting and pose estimation, not enough for a language model of any consequence. That is a reasonable place for a board of this size to land.
