Why Disclosure Beats Deletion

A song where a human artist used AI tools during mastering, EQ, or another technical step in production does not. What Does This Mean for Artists and Listeners?
For listeners, the practical effect is a small badge that answers a question many people have started asking. For artists working with AI tools, the guidance is worth reading closely: the tag attaches to generated content, not to a producer using a modern plugin, so the vast majority of human-made records should be unaffected.
For distributors, this is a compliance deadline in disguise. Tagging was optional from March through August; it will not be. Catalogs will need classification workflows, and the "material portion" threshold will need internal interpretation before Apple's labels go live.
