Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Year 2: $40 Price and DLC Guide

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting a second lap, and it starts with a gift. Sega announced on October 9, 2026 that Year 2 of the kart racer begins on November 3, bringing a new one-on-one Duel Mode, six crossover DLC packs and, effective right now, a permanent price cut that takes the Standard Edition from $69.99 to $39.99.

• Year 2 start: November 3, 2026.
• New price: Standard Edition $39.99 (was $69.99); Digital Deluxe Edition $59.99 (was $89.99).
• Season Pass Two: $29.99 for six packs, featuring Godzilla, Evangelion, Sanrio, classic Sega, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Persona.
• Free additions: Bayonetta on November 3, a McLaren Racing machine later in November, and Aigis in early 2027.

How Much Does Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Cost Now?

According to Gematsu, the price drop is permanent and already live. The Standard Edition is $39.99, and the Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes Year 1's content, is $59.99. There is also a new Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition at $59.99 that pairs the base game with Season Pass Two. If you already own the game, skip that one and buy the pass on its own for $29.99.

A physical Year One Edition at select retailers bundles the base game with Season Pass One for $59.99.

What Is in Season Pass Two?

Six packs, rolling out across 2027, and the guest list is wonderfully chaotic:

• Godzilla Pack (November 3, 2026): a Godzilla Escape course plus Godzilla, King Ghidorah and Mothra themed machines.
• Evangelion Pack (January 2027): a Tokyo-III course, Rei and Asuka as racers and three EVA machines.
• Virtual Sanrio Puroland Pack (Q2 2027): a Puroland course with Hello Kitty and Kuromi as racers.
• Segaland Pack (Q3 2027): a classic Sega course with After Burner, OutRun and Super Megalo machines.
• Midgar Pack (working title, Q3 2027): Final Fantasy VII Remake content, details to come.
• Reload Revival Royal Pack (Q4 2027): Persona content, details to come.

VGC notes the Godzilla course has the monster attacking City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2, which is the kind of sentence that makes this job fun. Each pack is also sold separately.

What Is the New Duel Mode?

Duel Mode is a one-on-one format built around a Duel Boost gauge that fills over time, and faster when you use items. Spend it for bursts of speed. You can see your opponent's items, gadgets and position, so it plays more like a fighting game mind game than a 12-racer scramble.

It comes in several flavors: Rival Duel against CPU rivals offline, online Free Match, limited-time Best-of-10 events with ranks and medals, and Friend Match with custom rules. Bayonetta, the first free Year 2 character, is unlocked through Rival Duel.

What Else Changes on November 3?

• Grand Master Plate: a seventh "Super Slot" that amplifies a one-slot gadget, alongside 15 new gadgets on day one.
• CPU rivals: post-launch characters, free and paid, now show up as CPU opponents.
• Festivals: new limited-time Festivals run for ten days straight.

Season Pass Two buyers get a Sega controller decal pack immediately and console-themed machines on November 3.

Is Now a Good Time to Jump In?

At $39.99, with a full year of tracks and crossovers behind it and another on the way, this is the easiest recommendation the game has had.
