For context, the Raspberry Pi 5's optional Hailo-8L accelerator maxes out at 13 TOPS. The Orange Pi AI Station delivers more than thirteen times that on a single board.
Memory options are equally striking: configurations range from 48GB to 96GB of LPDDR4X RAM. For a single-board computer. When I first read the spec sheet, I assumed it was a misprint — but no, Orange Pi is genuinely shipping an SBC with as much RAM as a high-end workstation laptop.
Built for Local AI Inference
Storage-wise, you get up to 256GB of eMMC built in, with an SD card slot and PCIe SSD support for expansion. Connectivity includes dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, WiFi, and a standard 40-pin GPIO header for hardware hacking. An active cooling fan mount keeps things stable under sustained inference loads.
The whole platform is designed around one use case: running AI models locally.
