Morgan Stanley Q3 2026 Earnings: Record Wealth, EPS Beat
Morgan Stanley Q3 2026 earnings: $20.3B revenue, $3.03 EPS beat estimates, Wealth Management hit a record $9.1B and equities revenue jumped 41%.
Big-bank earnings season kicked off with some strong numbers, and Morgan Stanley turned in one of the standout reports. On October 14, the firm posted third-quarter revenue of $20.3 billion and earnings of $3.03 per share. Both topped Wall Street estimates, helped by a 41% jump in equities trading revenue and a record quarter for its giant Wealth Management business. If you hold a brokerage account, this report shows a lot about where investor money is moving.
- Revenue: $20.3 billion, up from $18.2 billion a year earlier and above Fiscal AI's $20.11 billion estimate, according to Stocktwits
- EPS: $3.03 per diluted share versus $2.80 a year ago, beating the $2.91 estimate
- Wealth Management: record net revenue of $9.1 billion, a 30.4% pre-tax margin and $232 billion in net new assets
- Shareholder returns: $1.5 billion in buybacks and a $1.15 quarterly dividend payable November 13, 2026

CEO Ted Pick summed it up as "another strong quarter." He credited the equity franchise and the "Integrated Firm" model, which links the investment bank with the wealth arm.
Why Did Wealth Management Hit a Record?
This is the part retail investors should watch. Wealth Management revenue climbed 10% to a record $9.1 billion, driven by asset management fees and higher net interest income. The bigger story is flows. The division pulled in $232.4 billion of net new assets in a single quarter, up from $81 billion a year earlier. Fee-based flows nearly doubled to $80.5 billion from $41.9 billion.
Fee-based flows are money moving into advisory accounts that charge a percentage of assets. That is sticky, recurring revenue, and a sign clients are handing more of their portfolios to professional management. Morgan Stanley owns E*Trade, so this machine reaches from self-directed traders all the way to ultra-high-net-worth families.
What Drove the 41% Equities Jump?
The equities desk was the quarter's star. The release credits strong performance across businesses and regions, driven by client engagement and particular strength in Asia. Advisory revenue also rose on more completed M&A deals in the Americas.
To keep it balanced, not every line went up. Fixed income revenue fell 7%, and Investment Management revenue slipped to $1.5 billion from $1.7 billion. Even so, that unit pulled in $15.8 billion of positive long-term net flows.
What It Means for Investors
Morgan Stanley's report adds to a solid run of Q3 results from the brokerage and wealth world. We covered Schwab's record net new assets and Interactive Brokers' 35% account growth earlier this week.
