GTA 6 Launch Trailer: What We Learned Before November 19
Rockstar's 90-second GTA 6 launch trailer was captured on PS5 and debuts a new Justice track, five weeks before the November 19 release on PS5 and Xbox.
The GTA 6 launch trailer is finally here, and the countdown to Vice City is officially on. Rockstar Games released the 90-second Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer on October 15, giving fans one last look at Jason, Lucia and the sun-soaked state of Leonida before the game arrives on November 19. If you have been refreshing Rockstar's site since the Extended Look in August, this is the hype shot to carry you through the final five weeks.
- Trailer: about 90 seconds long, captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5, according to VGC.
- Music: debuts "Flower in a Hurricane" from Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
- Release date: November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
- Pre-orders: open now through Rockstar's site.
What's in the GTA 6 Launch Trailer?
Rockstar keeps the focus squarely on its two leads. Jason and Lucia are pulled into a criminal conspiracy that sprawls across Leonida, the game's take on Florida, and the trailer cuts between neon-lit Vice City streets, swampy backroads and the kind of beachfront chaos the series is famous for. Rockstar says every shot was captured in-game on a PS5, so what you see is what you will be driving through next month.
Ninety seconds is short compared with the nearly 27-minute Extended Look from August 27, but that is the point. Launch trailers are mood pieces, and this one is all momentum: fast cars, big sunsets and a soundtrack that does a lot of the heavy lifting.
Who Made the Music in the GTA 6 Trailer?
French electronic duo Justice composed the original score for Grand Theft Auto VI, and the trailer premieres a brand-new Justice single, "Flower in a Hurricane." The track features an all-star lineup of Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and it will appear on Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album.
That is a great sign for anyone who has already memorized the six GTA 6 radio stations and podcasts Rockstar revealed earlier this month. Between licensed radio, an original score and a companion album, music is clearly central to how Rockstar wants Vice City to feel.
The Road to Launch Day
The launch trailer completes a run that started with Trailer 1 on December 4, 2023, continued with Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, and built up through the Extended Look this summer. Rockstar's trailer page shows the game playing best on PS5, and the full release lands on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S on November 19.
It also marks a big moment for the studio. As VGC points out, Grand Theft Auto VI is Rockstar's first major new single-player release since Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018. Studio heads Phil Hooker and Aaron Garbut have said the next game should not take another eight years, because the engine, tools and team carry forward.
How to Get Ready for GTA 6
Pre-orders are open now from Rockstar's site and the console storefronts. If you are still on the fence, the launch trailer is the cleanest summary of the game's tone, and the Extended Look is the deep dive. Either way, it is time to clear some storage space and some evenings.
