Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5: Mods, Dual Wielding and More

Night City is not done with us yet. CD Projekt RED has published the patch notes for Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5, the Edgerunners 2 Update, which arrives on October 22, 2026, on PC, Mac (Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, with Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version following in the days after. And honestly? This one is stacked: official cross-platform mod support, a brand-new side quest tied to the Edgerunners sequel, dual-wielding pistols, and a console FOV slider that players have wanted forever.

How Does Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Support Work on Consoles?

This is the big one. The update adds cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io, letting you browse and install a curated selection of player-made mods straight from the in-game menu. CD Projekt RED calls it a first step and says more mods will arrive over time. Modded saves get their own icon in the Load Game menu, and one fair-warning detail: on consoles, achievements and trophies cannot be earned while playing from a modded save. Pick a fresh save for your wild experiments and keep your trophy run clean.

What New Edgerunners Content Is in Update 2.5?

Fans of the anime get Clampdown, a new side quest set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. To unlock it, finish The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then wait for her message. Completing it nets a five-piece gear set based on the character King. There is also a new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, playing tracks from the Edgerunners series, which is basically required listening while you cruise.

Beyond that, a second new side quest called Welcome to Paradise sends you on a guided tour of Night City narrated by Richard Night, unlocking after The Heist and Street Cred level 15. Twelve new Minor Arcana tarot cards are scattered around the city as part of an extension of Fool on the Hill, with a special reward for collecting them all.

Dual Wielding, Cyberware Skins and Quality of Life

The new Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree, plus four supporting perks, lets you dual-wield pistols and revolvers from the Power category. Fashion fans get five new outfit sets from clothing vendors, NPC-exclusive hairstyles for V, and five Glamdocs that let you reskin Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System in custom colors. Photo Mode adds Cyberpunk Trading Card Game frames.

Quality-of-life fixes include saves grouped by playthrough, filters for apartment and vehicle stashes, and that long-requested FOV slider on consoles. HDR rendering is improved, and ray tracing and PS5 Pro performance get optimizations.

Still Going Strong

Cyberpunk 2077's turnaround has been one of gaming's great redemption arcs, and this update shows it is still growing years after launch, following the game's 40 million copies sold milestone earlier this year.
