Agent, your mission just got a second act. IO Interactive released the free Extended Operations update for 007 First Light on October 1, 2026, and it adds a New Game+ mode, a punishing new difficulty and a handful of fresh missions.

  • The update is free on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC.
  • New Game+ unlocks after you finish the campaign on any difficulty.
  • A new 00 difficulty is described as considerably harder, with faster-reacting enemies.
  • Photo Mode and five new TacSim missions arrive with it.

What does New Game+ include?

After finishing the campaign you can replay from the start or from any checkpoint, keeping the outfits and gadgets you unlocked. That makes it a good time to chase the stealthier approaches you skipped the first time.

How hard is the new 00 difficulty?

According to the update notes, enemies react faster to bodies and disturbances, tougher guard variants appear, and gadget use is restricted while a guard has line of sight. Weapon-handling animations were refined too, and enemies can now throw Bond off ledges.

What new missions and Photo Mode come with Extended Operations?

  • Four new TacSim driving missions with the Aston Martin Valhalla in the Slovakian mountains, called the Valhalla Protocol missions
  • One new TacSim infiltration mission set at The Pearl villa in Vietnam
  • A Photo Mode with posing, UI hiding, camera positioning and lens tools

IO Interactive called these some of the most requested additions since launch, and because the update is free on every platform the game shipped on, there is no extra purchase between you and a second playthrough. Stealth fans get a stricter test, driving fans get new mountain roads, and screenshot fans finally get a proper camera. If you missed the game's debut, our 007 First Light launch coverage covers the platforms and the premise, and the gaming section has more updates worth a replay.
